Enter a dummy text (for example, a single "x") in the chart (or axis) title box in the Chart Options dialog, then click OK.
With the title selected, click in the formula bar.
Type =, then point to the cell containing the caption you want to use. This will enter a formula of the form =Sheet1!$A$1
    Press Enter to confirm.

    Notes:
    1. Don't enter the formula in the title box itself.
    2. You can't enter more complicated formulas than indicated above. If you want to display the result of a formula in the chart title, enter the formula in a cell on the worksheet, and refer to that cell in the formula bar for the chart title.

Just like you can populate a text box or autoshape with the contents of a cell, Hans?

Exactly like you can populate a text box and autoshape with a cell as well as pictures and other objects.

    FYI,
If your "range" is a name (ie a "named formula"), it can be dynamic and thus it can also change cells as well as size. this is especially important if you want to add a "picture of cells"
