Email Merge in Word XP not an option (Win XP Pro, Office XP )

I no longer have the option of being able to create an email merge using Word XP, 2002 and I no longer have the ability to send a word document as an attachment in word. I am also using Outlook XP. Any one have any ideas what could of cause this to occur?

Really like to be able to do my email merges again

    Thanks

Does this mean that these selections have vanished from your menu options, or they are still there but when you select them, nothing happens?

The choice is there, but it is faded out so it can't be selected.

If many other choices are "grayed out" as well, such as Page Setup, I would suspect that your active document is protected (does Tools>Unprotect appear?).

If that isn't it, and you haven't changed the privileges you log in with, try the steps in <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/starpost.gif> <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word,197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word<!/post>.

Hmmm... this is beyond my expertise. I think MS has published some articles on how to make Office work correctly with Windows, but I haven't actually read any. Perhaps in the Office Resource Kit?

I couldn't find anything on the MSKB. Could you check with your administrator to see if they have done something to limit your ability to send attachments?

Edited to add: I take it that starting Word from the command line didn't help.

Well, when the admin rights were changed they were only changed so I would no longer be an admin of the local machine, rights were not change on the Exchange server. BUT when I login as an admin I get the ability to do my email merge and to send attachments from Word. I don't understand why because we have other machines that don't have this problem, it shouldn' t have anything to do with admin rights locally but it appears to be the cause. I couldn't find anything i GPEDIT, I wonder if it could be a registry change

Really appreciate the feed back because I think it is starting to point us in the right direction
