How best to remove WDM drivers?

Recently, I noticed there are WDM drivers running that were part of software
    that has been uninstalled.

For example, on one system, although I uninstalled the Nero/InCD software
and installed Roxio's EMC 7 software, the nerocd2k driver is installed and
    running, tho perhaps never used.

On another system, I had long ago uninstalled Roxio's EZCD Creator software,
and installed Nero/InCD, but the EZCD 5 driver is still installed and
    running.

Having such drivers running is at best a performance hit, at worst, there
could be a conflict at some point.

What's the best way to assure that the only WDM drivers installed are from
    currently installed products?

I'm curious as to how you feel this would be a performance hit. If you are not having problems, the best practice is usually to leave well enough alone, although I certainly understand your desire to run a "lean" system. By WDM, I presume that you mean digitally signed, WHQL approved drivers?

So far as I know, there is no automated way to rid yourself of non-WDM drivers.

    WDM Window's Driver Model.

There's a performance hit anytime any unnecessary software is loaded and running.

CD recording software is notorious for not playing nice with competing products.

The real question is, is that performance hit noticeable outside of a few benchmark points? With the excessive CPU power and memory present in today's systems, can you really tell?

Your best option if you are intent on removing these items is to do so through the Add/Remove Hardware wizard. Make sure that you tell it to show hidden devices.
