What English word can have 4 of its letters removed and still retain it's original pronunciation?

A trout's tail weighs eight pounds. Its head weighs as much as the tail and one-half of the body combined, and the body weighs as much as the head and tail combined. What does the whole trout weigh?

2. I know that if you remove the ue from the word queue, it results in a new word with the same pronunciation. But that doesn't exactly answer the question. If you remove the ueue, you are left with the letter Q. The single letter is pronounced the same as the original 5-letter word. Is this the solution or is there a better one?

You've got it. There's no "better solution" unless.........
Ah! I feel an original brewing.

It didn't take you long to get your hooks into that fish.
