Runtime Error (Windows XP/Office XP)

    Hi,
I am having continuing difficulties with Outlook. I have repaired it (Help then Detect and Repair); reinstalled it and at it! Unfortunately, I can not get away from these problems. The attachment shows the error I get everytime I or anyone else open Outlook and then the program closes. When I reopen it again, it seems fine. Suggestions, please.
    Thanks.

    Hi Leif,
Thank you for your response. I did not find the answer in those areas but I did learn from your posting the first place to look for help:

There are a few others to check - run a search at the MS Database, for "Outlook 2002" and "runtime error".

I had been there before but did not know to key in the error; I always just searched for info on the program I was having a problem with. Don't you love learning!
BTW, I did find the answer. It involves a known (but so far not dealt with) problem with Norton Internet Security 2004 and Outlook. The problem is with the Anti-Spam feature and I found a temporary workaround.
Thanks, so much, for your time!

Can you post this workaround, others may like to use this same information.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Hi Dave - I'd be glad to. The link to the information is: http://www.nocrash.com/ncbbs/msgs/3478.shtml It was contributed by Pete:

As most of you would have already noticed, NIS or NAS keeps putting the Antispam addin back into Outlook even if you try to remove it, and that is the culprit that's causing the error. What I did is rename the NIS antispam addin to another name (eg. from MsouPlug.dll to MsouPlug.bak) so the antispam program can't find it. This seems to work as NIS didn't generate any error and just skips loading the addin.

You can find this MsouPlug.dll in directory <drive>:Program FilesCommon FilesSymantec SharedAntispam
