    Word 2000 RTF Conversion

    I have a Word 2000 Document that when I save it as a Rich Text Format (*.rtf) document it creates duplicate text. For example the original Word Document looks something like this:

    ARTICLE II{ TC n l1 " ARTICLE II "}

    then when I save it as a rtf document and reopen it in Word 2000 it looks like this:

    ARTICLE II ARTICLE II{ TC n l1 " ARTICLE II "}

    The ARTICLE II is duplicated for some reason. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

    Attached are both the original Word document and the RTF document in a zip file.texttext

    Hello tmitchell123. I played around with your documents and found that if you enter the text in the TC code before inserting the switches, all is well. Very strange indeed...

    Just a guess: I noticed that the style for "Article" is based on normal so I'm assuming that instead of using styles to generate a table of contents, bookmarks have been used. Click on 'Insert, Bookmarks' and see what you come up with.

    I've seen this behavior before, and was told it was a known bug in the RTF converter. However, I can't find anything in TechNet or the MSKB. <img src=/S/bummer.gif border=0 alt=bummer width=15 height=15>
