Import From via merge (XP Outlook 2000 SR-1 CW)

    Any help appreciated:
When merging a word document to an electronic mail, the only merge option available is to specify the e-mail field.
Is it possible to set the From field prior to the start of the merge?
I've checked the outlook library but no clues as yet.
I understand from other searched on posts that with the current type of setup (Corporate Workgroup) it may necessitate changes on the Exchange server, but once that is done, could I not then code in the "Send From" at the start of the merge?

Thanks for any words of wisdom you can offer on this.

You can write your own code to generate messages, as a substitute for Word's built-in capabilities, and I believe you can set the "Sent on behalf of" field, but not the "actual" sender name and address fields. Outlook will pick that information up from the account settings and if I recall correctly, those are "read-only" properties.

    Thanks jscher.
I figured it may be along those lines and it only means a little more coding than I had anticipated.
Point to note though, the SentOnBehalfOf field needs to be one of the curent fields on the mail form,
    AND
on designing a new form, I noticed that in the available fields, there is a specific field called "From" which when added to the form includes a text box for the user to enter details in. I'm just experimenting now with renaming this text box and possibly adding data into it when sent.

    Thanks
