    User Settings not Retained

I have a user who likes to use different folder views and has Remember Each Folder's View Settings under Tools > Folder Options > View tab. However, these settings are not being retained by Windows and are being reset to the default large icon view each time the user logs into the machine. He is running Windows 2000 SP4 with Office 2000.

I've tested other W2K machines and it appears that this is not working on them either. It appears to work with Windows XP, however. I haven't been able to find anything on Microsoft's Knowledge Base. Is this something that might have been broken by a security update? Please let me know if anyone knows anything about this. Thanks!

    Re: User Settings not Retained

I'm not sure if this can be cured in the same way as it can for XP, but have a look at Mark's Star<post#=252256>post 252256</post#> - an obvious clue may be the number of folders on your users' machines exceeding the magic 400 figure...

Thanks, Leif! I'm waiting to hear back from the user to see if those suggestions worked.
