    Computer Name in Header (IE6.0/XPsp2)

Can anyone tell me how to add a computer's name to a header or footer when printing web pages? We have a dozen staff printing to the same LaserJet and it would helpful to us if the printed copies could be identified as to who printed them.

    Hi Brian:
I'm not sure how this would work on a network, but if each person has their own IE, here's what you can do.

    1. Go to File/Page Setup... You will see a header & footer with notations.
    2. If you place the cursor in the header or footer & press Shift+F1, you will get a list of codes & what they mean.
    3. Each person would have to put either their name or the computer name in the header or footer. Depending upon the codes, you could left, right, or center justify it.

Note: when using the code, &u, which places the URL on the page, you might end up cutting off some of the header/footer, as some of the URLs are quite long.
    Hope this helps,
