ASP for SQL reports to Apache

We hired a company to redo our old website and the plan is to allow a small number of customers to access our business system (SQL 2000 on W2K Server) to get information about their account, they are just now starting the process. The problem is they are a "Microsoft only shop" but we run Apache (Slackware). I'm not familiar with the terms but the problem only exits on the reports side, I think they said something to do with displaying "Active Server Pages". They said the rest of the website won't be a problem. Chilsoft was something they mentioned they'd look into, my searches on that lead to SUN for about $500.
Any suggestions would be welcomed, Greg

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by jscher2000 on 16-Apr-04 09:57. On second thought...)</P>Yes ASP is a little proprietary page rendering engine (similar in function but not syntax to JSP or PHP) that comes free with the IIS server (Windows NT, 2000, etc.). Chilisoft made an emulator; I had no idea it could be that expensive.

Are there a lot of pages? Perhaps if there's not a whole lot of code, it could be rewritten in PHP or whatever you use now for dynamic pages?

Oh wait... this is brand new development? You either need to go with their expertise (ASP) and figure in the cost of a nice Windows server, or hire some different people to do the pages. Planning to use a kludge from the outset really doesn't make sense to me. (As long as we're talking about your money here. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> )
