    Hotmail in Outlook 2K (MSO 2K sr-1a)

I set up Hotmail in Outlook Express, , exported the account, and then imported it into Outlook...

It shows up ("Hotmail") in the "Tools/Accounts" list...

But it does NOT show in the "Tools / Send/Receive" list.

    How come?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Does it have to be set up with Tools>Options>Mail Setup tab>Send/Receive....?

    John:

    You must be using 2002/3(?).

In 2000, you go to Tools / Accounts / Import and then click the " *.iaf " file that was created through export from OE... you can't directly create / add Hotmail in Outlook 2k, I don't believe...

Yes, I am using 2003. On rethinking this, is it even possible to send or receive Hotmail from within Outlook? You said that you originally set it up in OE and then exported and imported into OL. Were you able to send or receive from within OE?

    Chuck,
Just found another KB article which may help.

    John:

Thanks... But I'm one of the (still) MSO 2K holdouts... and MS didn't add the featuretill 2002

    Thanks though.

Sorry about that. Here's the workaround for OL2K. This may be more trouble than it's worth however.

    John:

    Thanks...

It is a bit of a (...), but, at the same time, you can also use it for Yahoo et al, thereby centering your mail in one place...
