    If it were Word 2002 I'd say you're loading someone's add-in that has an error.
    Click on Tools>Macros>Visual Basic Editor
    and have a look at what projects are in the left hand explorer pane.
    The name should give you a clue to the culprit - these are often installed as part of a .DOT template from the Office Start directory

    I did as you suggested. Frankly, I didn't understand a thing in that screen.

    Back in the old days of the late nineties, I had WOPR loaded and it drove me crazy. It screwed up Word something fierce. I thought it might have improved in the new version, so I reloaded the latest version. Tonight I uninstalled it and my error message problem went away.

    Quite truthfully, I like WOPR. I think whatever I did this morning, one of those sloppy keyboarding mistakes of hitting five keys at the same time, to turn the language bar on caused the problem.
