Send on behalf (WinXP; Outlook XP, Exchange server)

I work at a law firm and have been requested by an attorney to permit his secretary to send messages on his behalf. He doesn't want her to be able to view his inbox or sent box...but merely be able to send out e-mail, generally with attachments, on his behalf. What is happening presently when she sends it out under her name, the clients don't recognize her name and generally delete the e-mail as spam or virus generated. So the goal is for her to send the e-mail, but have the receiving party see the attorney's name as the sender. Additionally, should the receiver reply to the e-mail, I need to ensure that the reply is received by the attorney and not the secretary who sent it on behalf of the attorney. I have read through the on-line help files, but haven't been able to satisfy myself that I can limit the secretary to the send of behalf feature only without granting her rights to the attorney's sent folder. I also can't find anything to confirm that even though she sends it on behalf of the attorney, that a client reply will use the attorney's e-mail address and not the secretary. THANKS.

You could perhaps create another email account with the boss's name under User Information and make sure the Reply to: address was that of the boss. Emails should then display as from the boss, and clicking on Reply would send it to him/her.

You could always add a signature stating "Sent on behalf of.... by.." etc to be extra clear to the recipient.

Edited to add:
I'm assuming this would work under Exchange Server...

Not sure about OL XP, but in OL 2003, when sending a new email, the option is available to display the "from" field (New>View and select From Field). Then, click on the From button (to open the address book), select the attorney's name (to insert into the From field) and then follow the regular procedure for the rest of the message. E.g., assume the attorney's name is Bob and the secretary's name is Susan. Insert Bob's name in the From field. When the message is received and is displayed in the InBox, the Sent From field displays Bob. When the mail is opened, it displays as From: Susan on behalf of Bob.

Yes - its in 2002 also - although it seemed to do something funny with the "From" and "Reply-to" address when the mail was sent.
It correctly used the "From" address as the source of reply but seemed to add some extraneous data to the end - thus

"Secret Squirrel(secret.squirrel@paradise.net.nz)"@smtp-3.paradise.net.nz

You may need to override the "Reply-To:" address from Options as well. I'll do some more experiments and report back
