    updating durations (1998)

Is there a way to update progress of tasks in quantities rather than % eg: if a task is for 25,000 units and progress is (day 1) 6000 (day 2) 15000 (day 3)4000.

Instead of using % complete, try updating the Actual Work field. This assumes that your task is setup as a material type task without any labor resources.

If this doesn't work, please provide more information on how the task is setup, resources assigned and type of resource, task type (fixed, effort driven, etc.), duration.

Hi summer - welcome to the lounge.

You can use the free number fields (Number1 ... ) to create user-defined fields. For example, you could call one Units and another Units Completed.

Post back if you need guidance on this or on how to show custom fields in a table.

    Tony.

Thank you very much. Such a simple fix and I've been going nuts haha trying to work it out. I have just managed to get upgraded to Project 2000 so I'll see how I go. <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>
