wordperfect 6 win to word 2000

Converted documents do not wrap properly. Many words are split between lines. Is this typical? Is there a solution short of massive editing? Did not have this problem in previous project (wp dos to word 97)

    Hi Sam,

Are the words being broken by a specific character? Press <Ctrl Shift *> to toggle your nonprinting characters to see if this is the case. See this article from the MS Word FAQ site if you need assistance in determining what the nonprinting character represent:
    <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm>http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Format...PrintChars.htm</A>

If that isn't the case then are you working with an English version of Word?

If not then take a look at Format/Paragraph and see if there is a tab for Style. If so there is an option there to turn word wrap on or off for English characters.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the help. Tried all these and several others suggested in private e-mail. The culprit was a font called FigurineTmsCB. The documents were being converted from Times Roman in WP to FigurineTmsCB in word. This is a strange font. Text in it could not be selected and changed to another font (it just showed as multiple boxes. I went into control panel and deleted the collection of four Figurine fonts. Without them, the documents convert to DeVinne text BT font. It, however will convert to Times New Roman with no problem.
