    There is no simple answer, I'm afraid. Sometimes you can download the source file, other times it will stream no matter what you do. It has to do with the protocol that Microsoft uses for streaming content. I'm sure that the data gets cached somewhere, but I have had a few instances where I was unable to find it no matter how far I dug into the links or files on my hard drive.

    I used, at one point, a piece of software called StreamBox VCR to snag streams and save them. I was fairly certain that they ran afoul of legal issues and ceased development, but from the looks of it you can still download it. At a glance it seems to have found a home with some less than savory content...so be careful...

    If it will let you copy the stream to a CD, you could then copy from the CD to your Hard Drive. An extra step, but..... some would call it a workaround (with the emphasis on WORK <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>).
