addresses go blank in 'To:' field (Outlook XP (2002))

    All,
I have a strange problem when composing emails. Sometimes, with some addresses that ARE in my Contacts, when I type the name or even select them from the "To:" window, they are inserted as blank!!! I have even had trouble typing in that field as well as copying and pasting!
It happens with some addresses and not others. All of the addresses work, I have been using them for months with no problems.
    Any thoughts?
Any help you can offer is appreciated!!!!!!

Check the "Display as" windows within the contact's main page.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

That field has the persons name + the email address in ( ). All of the trouble addresses are in this same format, as are the non-trouble ones.

Depending on how many Contacts are involved, you might like to look at recreating the problem ones. It may be that the Contact entry has become partly corrupted. HTH

Is there any way to tell if a contact has been corrupted?
Can just one contact be corrupted and all others be ok?
How do I un-corrupt my contacts?
    Thanks,
    Amber

This something that can happen with any database - such as an Outlook file. It generally only happens with isolated instances. You "uncorrupt" by recreating the data as a new Contact and deleting the old Contact item. HTH
