    Pivot Table (2000)

I have a pivot table where the data is - number of contracts, number of members, and number of clients. This field has a drop down list to choose one of the three etc. If you eliminate one of the three, it disappears. You can't reselect it. The other drop down lists on the report can be selected. deselected and reselected but this one disappears. I would like to disable this drop down list. Does anyone know why this would do this and how can I disable it as a dropdown list.

    Hi Linda,

Can you attach a (generic) working sample of what you're doing?

The only dropdown list I see in this is for region and it seems to work as expected.

Steve uses Excel 97; he only sees the "page field" dropdown (Region). Starting with Excel 2000, there are dropdowns for each individual field.

I see the behavior you mention. In Excel 2002, I can drag the field that has been removed back to the data area from the Pivot Table Field List, then right-click the field caption to rename it. The Field List can be toggled from the Pivot Table toolbar. But I don't know if this List is available in Excel 2000.
Since the data behind the pivot table are not available, I cannot experiment with the Pivot Table Wizard.

Perhaps the feature was added in XL2000. I have only a dropdown for the pagefield "region" in XL97.

Sorry, but if it is a question that is beyond XL97 ability to solve and see, I can not help you.
