Create Two Page-Numbering Schemes in One Document (XP)

(Edited by jscher2000 on 29-Apr-04 13:36. )
Edited: URL made live. -Mod.[/i]

I'm using the info from MS KB 291283 - Create Two Page-Numbering Schemes in One Document in Word 2002. I'm using Method #2
However, I'm trying to swap the Header and Footer info from the KB (ie their header in footer and vice-versa).
The Header (my footer) part works great, but the Footer(my Header) fails. When I insert the field {={PAGE} + {PAGEREF BookmarkName (section 1)}}, nothing appears.
Anyone ever try this? Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    vetter

(Edited by jscher2000 on 29-Apr-04 13:40. )
The part BookmarkName (section 1) needs to be replaced with the actual bookmark name that you inserted into Section 1 of your document, following the excruciating step-by-step approach described in the article. That's not to say I've actually tried this, but it's the first thing that springs out at me from your post.

Added: It's Step #6 under Method 2. If you followed Method 1 only, it looks as though they forgot to include this step.

Yep, tried this for section 2 header {={PAGE} + {PAGEREF Sec1}} , still no luck.

Here's a demo document, you can copy and edit the codes in the footer if you like.

Added: If you aren't already familar with using Alt+F9 to fully expand the fields for examination, make sure you do so. Using Shift+F9 to expand a single field result to its code doesn't always expand all the embedded fields, or vice versa. It can become very difficult to figure out what's going on if you don't see everything expanded.
