Is this a bug

I'm running Word 2k on a Dell Pentium 3 with 256k memory & getting the following:-
"There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font."
This has only occured since upgrading to Windows Pro 2000

What did you upgrade from?
Do you have similar problems in other progs like Excel?
Does it only happen when opening a specific document - or is it with any doc?
Do you know what font it is? and is it listed in the Word font list?

Thanks for your valued reply.

Windows 98 SE. I don't often use Excel, so can't comment on that. Up to now it's only occuring on one document (105 pages with many graphics & an index). This document uses Times New Roman font. It did occur to me the document may have some corruption in it.

Hi Mike,

You mentioned that you have several graphics in the file in another post. This can be a primary cause of the error you are getting especially if many of them are scanned images. (This happened in Word 97 too)

You might try linking them instead or converting the images to MS Drawing Object or Picture. Cut the image and use Edit/Paste Special.

I'll give it a go. It's such a large file that maybe I'll re edit and link the graphics as you suggested (some 500 of them).

Also, while you're at it, keep the Word 2k operating paramenters (located in <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q211/4/89.ASP>MSKB Q211489</A>) in mind.
