    set the Macro>Security>Security Level (XP)

    Hiya

in Office XP the setting Macro>Security>Security Level - when you 1st install office the security level is set to High.
In each ms app ie word, excel. powerpoint - I go into chagne the security level to Low. & then close the application.
I then fire up the application again expecting my security level to be low - however the security level is actually set back to medium.

why is it that it wont retain the settings I've applied.
Also I've also installed projectXP & VisioXP & changed the security settings to low. when I then goto re-open the apps the settings have 'stuck'
    any ideas?

I would like to set the security level to Low.
is there a registry setting I can add/modify that will set my security level to low for all my ms apps including project & visio if installed?

    many thanks
    Diana

Re: set the Macro>Security>Security Level (XP)

    Hi Diana:
I don't have an answer, BUT I do have an opinion. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> You should set the security level to medium. This shouldn't cause problems. The only inconvenience is when you open a document or a template that isn't in the template folder (& it contains macros). On the other hand, having it set to medium, so it warns you, can save your bacon. True, a good up-to-date antivirus program should catch a problem, but it doesn't hurt to have more than one layer of protection.
    Cheers,
