outlook and mailshell (outlook 2000; win2kpro)

hello one and all!

outlook causes me more problems alone than does windows and the rest of office all together. so what else is new?

here's the problem: i have just installed mailshell (an anti-spam program) for a 30 day trial. opened outlook, and saw that i had six new messages. went looking for them, as they weren't on the top of the list, as they have always been in the past. now, i find my new messages scattered throughout the incoming list, with what seems to be no rhyme or reason whatsoever. i think that the replies may be coming in and showing with the messages that they are replies to, as some new ones are coming in on the top of the list where they belong.

here's the question: how do i get my incoming e-mails to come in in date order, with the newest at the top, as they were before? i am not certain that mailshell is what caused it, but that's the only change that i have made to outlook at all, to the best of my knowledge. until i added it (mailshell), all my e-mails in the inbox were in date order, with the newest ones on top. it's confusing to have to chase my incoming e-mails all over the list. it's a "pane" in the butt, if i may say so (and i just did!)

any help that y'all can point my way would be very helpful and i would be extremely grateful. hope to hear and see from you soon. until then, take care and God bless.

smiles-
ladyleadfoot!!!

Your current view might have changed its sort order. You should be able to re-sort by Received Date/Time by clicking on the column heading. If it keeps changing, then perhaps try another anti-spam program.

thanks. that did it. i don't know whether the spam attacker did it, or i did it by inadvertently clicking the column. right after i installed mailshell, the list was all mangled, without what seemed to be any rhyme or reason, except that all related e-mails were grouped together. i kind of liked that idea, except that i couldn't tell where my new, incoming e-mails were. i had to hunt for them. when i clicked on the Received column heading, it straightened them out, upside down. i did it again, and now the new ones are at the top, and the older ones are toward the bottom. thanks again for the help! take care and God bless!
