Reports & Memo fields (Access 2k)

I am creating a report that is using a Union Query - because of the necessary comments field (memo type) from Table 1 needs to be merged with another comments field from Table 2 which is made up of a question field and a memo field - which are concatenated to make 1 field. I need these fields to appear as one on the report - however - when I combined the two fields the seem to act as a Text Field -255 characters and not a normal memo field which expands and collapses as the contents warrants.

Does anyone have any ideas how to work around this issue?

I have tried using sub reports and creating a temp table to store the data but the issue of Text field still exists.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Do you really mean a union query? A union query can only be created in SQL view; it contains the keyword UNION.

Do you apply formatting to the memo fields? That causes the data to be truncated: see ACC2000: Formatted Memo Field Appears to Truncate Data After 255 Characters.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, I found a different work around - I forgot the 1 of my queries is a one-many relationship and I was not allowing for that . I ended up creating 2 subreports and if subreport 1 has no data for the particular recordID from table1 then it displays the data from subreport2 which may have many relationshp info.

    Thanks again.
