Global search and replace in Contacts folder (2K SP3)

Is there a way to do a global search and replace in the contacts folder? I.e. if a company we works with is changing their phone numbers prefixes, so that 123-6789 and 123-9876 are all becoming 789-6789 and 789-9876, I'd like to change them all at once.

    Thanks

Another Outlook Annoyance; there is no built-in Find-And-Replace. See posts <post#=255084>post 255084</post#> and related <post#=107360>post 107360</post#>. If you want to go the VBA route, several Loungers would be happy to help you modify Jefferson's code in the second post. Be careful with your find-and-replace (either in Excel or in code) to avoid replacing a matching number sequence that is not a prefix.

It seems like this might be a common enough issue, so I wrote some code for it, attached. Use at your own risk, I'd suggest you ALWAYS make a test Contacts Folder, select and copy all contacts to the Test Folder (Edit | Copy to Folder) and test it and review the results there first.
