Failed Windows Updates Win2K SP4

Weeks ago, I received the auto notification to apply these two updates. However after numerous attempts (both automatically and manually) all attempts have failed. The following is from my win update install history:

I'm running Win2K-SP4

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Did you try the stepping option? And what did it tell you?

I haven't tried the stepping option yet, but hope to this weekend.

Probably won't be able to try it before Friday night at the earliest.

After numerous attempts trying the stepping option, nothing happens. I don't even get an active setup log.txt file.

Looks like time to re-format and reinstall the OS AGAIN....

I hate M$ and their mickey mouse approach to software. It shouldn't be this hard.

This time I'm going to install a spare (second) HD and and set up dual boot drives and start experimenting with Linux.
