    Scanning disc (Windows XP)

My wife wants to try to open a floppy disc a friend is having trouble with. I want her to scan the floppy before opening it but we can't find out how to do this. We're new to XP. Can any one helps us out? <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

    Re: Scanning disc (Windows XP)

First, you must have an anti virus program (such as Norton or McAfee). Insert the floppy, start your AV program and you will have the option to scan for viruses on your computer, hard drive, floppy or specific folders.

Most newer AV programs on Windows XP, one can right click the "Start" button and select "Scan with {your AV program}"

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
