File Download dialog box (IE 6)

We have students who view PowerPoint, Word and Excel files through Internet Explorer as a means of learning support - when they click the link to view the files the File download box appears offering them to open or download the files. We would like to be able to stop that dialog box from appearing so that the file only opens in the browser for viewing by default.
