    Rate of Return Formula (Excel 2000)

    I have a co-worker who is trying to figure out the rate of return for something. I'm not sure what the function would be for this.
    50=N
    47.33 = present value
    327.9 = future value
    0 = payment

    What would be the rate of return? Any ideas what the function would be for this?

    Re: Rate of Return Formula (Excel 2000)

    Say that these numbers are in A1 to A4. The following formula will return the interest percentage:

    =RATE(A1,A4,-A2,A3)

    You must put a minus before A2 because that is an amount you pay (nagative); A3 is an amount you receive (positive).
