    table update (access 2000)

I'm sure this is a dumb question but I have a form with just date and time textboxes formatted to display current time and date. I would like this information to update the table but the correct sql statement procedure escapes me. I have attached a sample db.

    thanks in advance.

You don't give an indication as to the circumstances under which you want this to happen. If you want this to happen whenever a new record is created via the form as a means of tracking info, set the default value in each field of the table (in design view) rather than in the textboxes of the form using the same method you used on the form =Date(). That way it will automatically be saved. If you need this for some other reason you will have to be more specific.

I imagine this is connected with your other post, and that each time the form is opend you want to crete a new record.

Firstly change the Dateentry property of the form to Yes. That way it always opens to a new record.

The default value for time and date will then appear, but no record has actually been created unless something else happens.

An easy way to make something else happen is to use the currentUser() function to put avalue into another textbox.

I attach a modified version with this working.
