How can I start NotePad maximized, and for that matter with Edit Wraop ON?

I notice registry entries such as
C:WINDOWSNOTEPAD.EXE /p %1

FWIW here is a list of all entries for NotePad in my Win95(original) registry file.

Right_click on desktop
New | Shortcut
Enter
C:windowsnotepad.exe
(or wherever you have it)
Select: Run: Maximised

Thankyou for that - I've always wondered and never noticed. (Story of my life!)

Re: start NotePad maximized

Well, I'm running W2K and it seems to remember the last setting.
Something to play around with:
Open Notepad, turn on wordwrap and save as (eg) c:untitled.txt.
Can you get the shortcut to open up this file by adding it to the shortcut?
You should then get the best of both worlds.

(You could also set untitled.txt to read only to preserve it.)

Good afternoon. It's raining in England, right? That's why you're indoors at the computer. I was in England one April and it rained.

OK. I tried your suggestion, opened Notepad maximised (as per the earlier post) and it arrived maximised. Turned on Wordwrap, saved on the desktop as Untitled.

Opened it (empty) pasted chunks of text, but wordwrap was not on.

I turned on wordwrap, and re-saved it and exited, fired it up again from desktop, and wordwrap is OFF.

So far the setting for wordwrap appears to be OFF at load-time. very odd.

Funnily enough, we are currently going through an extended period of about 2 hours without rain. Spooky, eh?

Anyway, sounds like you don't have the option to preserve the wordwrap option. I'm surprised that having saved a file with wordwrap on, it doesn't re-open with it on again.

Well, you've got half of what you asked for...
