    Resource & Tasks (Project 2002)

    Hello there,

    I have been trying to get info out of project for the last week but failing.. <img src=/S/frown.gif border=0 alt=frown width=15 height=15>. What I have been asked to produce is a list of tasks per resource with dates. What I am after is something in the line of the 'Resource Usage View'. This gives me what I want but I have been unable to extract the information as I want into Excel, as I need to send out the info to the resources as a timesheet. <img src=/S/surrender.gif border=0 alt=surrender width=31 height=23> <img src=/S/flags/Wales.gif border=0 alt=Wales width=30 height=18>. Any ideas..?? Thanks in anticipation...

    DG,

    You could try modifying or creating a custom report to get this data. To push the data to excel, try creating a mapping by choosing File, Save As, Text and create a mapping to get the data. You can select task or resource mapping data. (Read the help files on this - its very easy to do) You can then create a text file that can be imported to excel.

    Post back if you cant get this to work.

    Thanks for this, I have tried. The problem seems to be in getting an individual resource name mapped to all tasks they are scheduled to do within project. If I map by 'resource' and I use 'name' then it will provide a list of individual resource names but I cannot get it to list the task they are schedued to do. If I map by 'Task' then by using 'name' to map it will list the task list & if I then use 'resource name' to map, it will provide every resource name against that task.... any more ideas?

    Hi

    An update - I have now used a pivot table to extract task & resources and this has given me all of the information that I require. In fact too much, in that it extracts all summary tasks in each column, up to 7 sometimes, which makes it a bit difficult to sort. I have used a filter to extract incomplete task by date range, what I have been unable to do is set the 'Group By' toggle of 'Complete & Incomplete Tasks', as this will show tasks without summary information on the view. Any ideas on how I can only extract the low level task information?
