    Attachments Folder (MSO 2K)

How can I change the default folder for attachments to emails in Outlook?

    Regards,

    Re: Attachments Folder (MSO 2K)

The default folder from which you attach files and in which you save attachments is your "My Documents" folder. The only way to change it is to change the location of "My Documents", but that would impact many Windows applications. See OL2000: How to Set the Default Attachment Folder.

The folder in which attachments are stored temporarily when you open them directly from an e-mail is specified in the registry, in the OutlookSecureTempFolder value in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice9.0Outlook Security. If this value is not present in the registry, Outlook creates a random folder under your Temporary Internet Files folder. See OL2000: Attachment Temporary Files Always Stored in Same Location. You can set the registry value to a folder you prefer.
