    java virtual machine (java2 1.2.4_04_b05)

    after downloading the latest version of java machine ,i now find some web pages tell me i need the java virtual machine which i can

    I assume you have downloaded the Sun Microsystems version (since Microsoft no longer provides this - see http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/?gssnb=1) . After installation, in IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Java (Sun)>Use Java 2 v1.4.2_04.

    yes and have disabled microsoft Vm but on opening certain web pages it says i don

    My guess is that these are older web pages built using MSVM and sometimes they don't acknowledge the Sun VM version. ( even though they should )
