Converting Word to Publisher (Office 2003 for XP)

How can I convert my Word document, containing both text and graphic, to Publisher. Cut & Paste just made a mess of the formatting.

    Thanks.

Publisher can open Word documents. You have 2 options:

1/ Use File>Open and in the "Files of type" box select "Word 97-2003 (*.doc)"
    2/ Use File>Import Word Document...

O.K. I tried both options and was able to open and import the Word file in Publisher but the graphics and text had their formatting changed and no longer fit on one page. While not as bad as "Cut & Paste" it was sufficiently changed as to be unusable in Word.

Is there anything else I should do?

    Thanks.

I do not use Publisher very often so maybe another lounger can offer better suggestions.

Experimenting with the import process Publisher seems to fail on picking up features such as word wrap around objects like graphics and these have to be set manually. Though Publisher ships with some versions of the Office suite it is not as fully integrated as the other applications.
