    My Document view (SR1)

This has been driving me nuts for a while. No matter what I do to change my viewing preferences, when I open My Documents the window opens maximized and in Tiles view. The problem is only with the top level My Documents folder. All subdirectories and other folders open the way I want them to. I do have "Remember each folder's view settings" checked, but I can open My Documents, change it's view to "Details" and change the size of the window, but as soon as I close it and reopen, I'm right back to Tiles view in a fully maximized window.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Where are you opening My Documents from - an icon on your desktop or from within Windows Explorer?

It happens whenever I open My Documents by double clicking on the desktop icon or by clicking Start > My Documents.

    Re: My Document view (SR1)

I had a similar problem with the view on my D Drive (which is a zip drive). I solved it (thanks to some advice on these boards) by going to Control Panel >Folder Options > view and choosing the setting that I wanted, then choosing "Apply to all folders". I then had to go back in and change back the ones that I had set up to show with thumbnails or whatever, but it seems to have worked (and the other folders - like you describe in your situation - seem to hold whatever setting I choose as I would expect them to).
