    tracking networks

Looking for a program or database that can be used to keep track of clients' networks - the usual info - # or servers, configuration, install dates, warranty stuff, # users, etc.

Ideally it would be web accessible. Any suggestions?

    Re: tracking networks

You need something to manage assets, correct? Just wanted to make sure I was using the proper corporate buzz-speak.

I have no direct experience with this product, but it looks very promising and it's 100% <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>. You just cannot beat that price. There is a fully functional demo here that you can purvey. It is a PHP script that utilises a MySQL back end.

You might also consider firing up Google and searching on the terms Asset Tracking Software. There are plenty of results on that query.

    Hope that helps...

    Re: tracking networks

I am using "Audit Wizard" to track this type of info on the local network. It isn't, or wasn't when I purchased, Web enabled. It does scan all machines automatically at predetermined intervals, is flexable and easy to setup and run. Just noticed here that you can setup remote access. HTH.
