Wireless Hoem Network - 2 XP Home machines

I have put a wireless card in teh computer that has a cable Internet connection through ethernet NIC. I want to do ICS and file/print sharing. How does the wireless card talk to my other machine with a wireless card - do I need a wireless router in the house or what?

I've never set up ICS with wireless, but I'm not a fan of ICS in any form. I think it's much better to go with a router to distribute the incoming connection. One major advantage of a router is that you will not be dependent upon a single PC to be operating in order to access the Internet from the other system.

I agree with Mark, a router would be far better, but if you really want to do it...

You don't need a wireless router to connect two computers via Wireless. When you look at the properties of your wireless card, go to the Wireless Networks tab and click advanced, and then select "Computer to Computer (ad hoc) networks only".
