    Returning to login (XP Home)

When I leave the machine alone, it continually acts as if I've hit the "switch to another user" and brings up the login screen. There is no screensaver set. Why is it doing this? And how do I get it to stop?

Did you or someone who setup the machine for you install any "tweaking" type software? Also, check in Control Panel, Power Options and tell us what all the choices there are set for. If it's not screensaver, it could be a power setting.....

Also, if the screen saver was checked "On resume, Password protect" then the login screen (Welcome) will appear.

No, no tweaking stuff. The power options are set for Home/Office Desk with all four options (turn off monitor and hard disks, system standby and hibernates) set to never. That's the power schemes tab. Let me know if you meant one of the other tabs. BTW, there are two users, this only happens to one of them. The other can have the machine sitting for hours and it still stays with the desktop.

Double check the account that this is happening to. Make sure that there is NO check mark. Each account can have different settings for the screen saver and power settings.
