    Line continuation character (2002)

    Hi all,
I am having a small but frustrating problem. The underscore used as the line continuation character does not appear to be recognised and results in error messages. The net result is that i have to have quite long lines of code and need to scroll from left to right to read them. Is there any way of fixing this?

The continuation character is not just an underscore but a space + underscore. Without the space Access interprets it as part of a name. Also, remember that you usually need an ampersand to start the next line after the continuation character. The only time that isn't true is when you use it to break arguments in a sub or function, like this:

    MsgBox "Some message", , _
    "Some Title"
    Charlotte
