    Table/Query/etc Listings Jumbled (Access 2000 SR3)

When I go to the main Access screen which allows me to view the list of tables, queries, etc, each list is now jumbled. They are alphabetically out of order, not in nice neat columns, and there are big gaps (i.e. blocks of white space) in the list. Bloody hard to find anything! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try right-clicking on some white space in the window (not over one of the icons) and play with the choices in the "View" and "Arrange Icons" sub-menus. Also, the "Line Up Icons" choice may help.

The toolbar at the top of the database window contains buttons that let you control how to display the icons: Large Icons, Small Icons, List and Details. List is usually best, unless you want to see the last modified date etc.; in that case select Details.

Right-clicking in the database window lets you sort by name, type, modified date etc. If you use Details view, you can also click a column heading to sort on that column. Clicking again inverts the sort order.
