Create Mail Item Error (Outlook 2000)

I am automating Outlook from Excel to send an email message using the CreateItem(olMailItem) method of the Outlook application object. On running the code I get a message box stating "Outlook cannot open the custom form. Do you want to use the default form". Clicking OK sends the mail.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how to rectify it?

Does your organization use a customized e-mail form? Sounds like that could be the case. I'm not sure whether Outlook's "object model" lets you specify that you simply want the default form, but you could see if that is an option.

I don't use a customised form for email. I ran the procedure again this morning - no errors. Strange.
