    'Connect' Pop Up (XP)

How would I go about preventing the dial up box from continually popping up on my laptop? I've clicked on the "don't show again until I log on again next time" message, but the darn thing is *very* persistent.

    Any ideas?

Possibly some type of spyware on your system that is trying to "phone home" ? Run AdAware and Spybot and see if they come up with anything. Might also be an idea to rrun a complete virus scan.

Thanks John, I'll give that a go.

    Have a great day!

    Later:

I've had a play with it. Bearing in mind your coment I've just realised that a fairly heavy home page was loaded as default (www.thegeyergroup.com.au). The boss wants to keep this <img src=/S/crazy.gif border=0 alt=crazy width=15 height=15> , so have you any ideas how to get around this? It's obviously the page trying to refresh!!

Have Ad-aware, Spybot or your virus program determined that this is the problem, or are you just speculating? If in fact this is the problem, then other computers in your organisation must be exhibiting this same behaviour as well. If so, then you may be correct. If not, then that is not the problem. Have you determined why this page is trying to refresh when you are off line?
