Where do you want to use this? In a web page?

if it can be done i would prefer to do it with a standard vbscript popup/input box.

I repeat: where do you want to use this? In an Office application, in a web page, in a stand-alone script file, or ...?

    Re: vbscript combo box (vbscript)

ok let me explain, i have written a script that creates a new AD user incl. mailbox, home share with acls etc etc. The way it works is that an input box pops up in windows and asks for a user name then first name then lastname. This then creates the users etc. I then need to add this user in the correct distribution groups of which we have a few so the way it works at teh moment is to ask a series of questions one after the other using the wscript.popup function. If it can be done i would like to reduce the amount of popup boxes by using combo boxes or something similar. These would need to pop up in windows then the user would select the relevant options and based on the answer the distribution lists would be added.

Does this help a bit more?

Thanks. I don't do scripting, but your description should give others a better idea of what you want.

It almost sounds as though you are attempting to re-create a Windows dialog using VBScript and the Windows Script Host. Unfortunately, neither the VBScript language nor the Windows Script Host offers a rich set of dialog tools. After all, it was simply intended to be a modern batch file language. Now, there is the possibility that you could automate an AD control if you could find one. At Microsoft's Scripting site, there are numerous sample scripts, using WMI, that can extract AD information, but I'm not sure if they have examples of how to display AD dialogs.

This question has remained unanswered in the VBA forum for almost half a week. I moved it to the Web Design etc. forum in the hope it will be answered here.
