    Distribution List (2000)

Running Outlook 2000 I would like to select some entries in a Contacts folder and create an distribution list from the selected entries. This seems like it should be simple enough, but I can't find a way to do it except by copying the selected contacts to a separate temporary folder, then using Address Book to display the temp folder and allow me to copy all its entries to make the distribution list. There must be an easier way!

Is there a reason that you can't first create the empty DL, then add the members from all Contacts using the Select Members dialog within the DL? That's the way I always do it.

Yes, but by categorizing, grouping, and/or sorting entries within a contact folder view I can easily select the ones I want when I am inside the Contacts folder. The window that let's you add entries to a DL insists on displaying everything in Name order (First Name first!), so I can't get a convenient sequence of entries to group-select. <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>
