Multi Page Fax From Scanner (5.1.2600 SP1 Build 2600)

Is it possible to send a multi-page fax from my scanner (using WinXP Fax)?

Sure. Just scan the files and create the type of documents or image files you want and then just use WinFAX to send them.

If you have Paperport 9 scanning software, it should provide you with a link to drag the scanned multipage document into WinFAX.

I don't mean Win Fax from Symantec, I mean the Fax program that is included with Windows XP. I don't have Paperport either.

What type of file can you output from your scanner ??

I don't use the native Windows FAX program, but you should still be able to attach multiple pages to a FAX with it. Try it.

My Canon scanner can output tiff, bmp and jpg among others. Since this was a WinXP "board" I was hoping someone would have experience with the new Fax Console included with Windows XP. I have tried it and there doesn't seem to me to be any obvious way to fax multiple pages from a scanner. I came up with a "workaround" that got me as far as creating a pdf and appending 2 pages together as a single pdf file but I can't seem to get WinXP to send anything.

I don't think there is any way you can fax multiple pages from the scanner (at least as a single fax). You will have to save each of the images and then assemble them into another program (such as Word). As far as faxing then, simply print the multi-page document you created to the fax printer (which was created when you installed the MS Fax service).

Edited to add: You can fax a single page from most scanners. Select the fax printer as your destination (rather than an image file).
