lookup based on two criteria (2000)

I am trying to lookup a letter (a rank) based on whether a number is >= a value and <= another value. I have attached an example.

    Thanks in advance!

If I understand your requirements correctly, an standard VLOOKUP function with the 4th argument (True otr False) should work for you. You just need to sort the vlues to be looked up into acending order.

See your file with the formula (in yellow) and sorted lookup table (in blue).

    Cashoe1,
The VLookup table has to be in sorted in ascending order. I created a new table and highlighted it yellow and named the range.
See the attached workbook. Does this do the job for you?

    Andrew,

Thanks for the response. Never thought to use the standard vlookup formula.
