MS Access Conversion Toolkit, any info? (2000)

The Access VB SQL Advisor Live conference in October of this year has a session entitled "Microsoft Access Conversion Toolkit". And gives this line about the session: "This session unveils Microsoft's new solution, the Access conversion toolkit, which provides a smooth conversion process to Access 2003"

Has anyone heard of this product? Is it available? To me it sounds like it's not now, but will be soon. Does anyone have links to more information about what this product does?

(Edited by HansV to make URLs clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

    found this blip about it...

A "Microsoft Access Conversion Toolkit" that will eliminate one of the supposed major "deployment blockers" in getting Access 97 users to migrate to Office 2003.

and this session description for TechEd 2004

"BPRL19 Exploring the Microsoft Office Access 2003 Conversion Toolkit
    Room 6E
    Track(s): Business Productivity Solutions
Do you know the scope of Access usage in your company? Are you concerned that it could impede a roll out of Office 2003 or Office XP? This lab familiarizes you with the Access Conversion Toolkit, for those who want to get a better understanding of their Access usage before undertaking an Office or Access 97 conversion. You'll have a chance to explore and use all aspects of the Access Conversion Toolkit. Check out the scanning tool that enables you to scan shares and drives for file, DAO and Access level properties. Walk through the Access reporting tool that produces canned reports and charts to help form the basis of your Access conversion strategy by identifying the conversion complexity of databases based on frequency of usage, complexity, size, sensitivity of data, etc. This lab will also give you an opportunity to convert databases and observe first hand the improvements we have made during Access conversion."

The Access Conversion Toolkit has finally been released. It is quite a large download (51Mb) and probably only of use to a relatively small number of users as it only intended to analyze Access 97 databases that may be converted to Access 2003 format.

Actually, based on conversations with the product team, even though it is called the 2003 conversion toolkit, it can be used to upsize to any 200x version. In other words you can tell it to upsize to an Access 2000 format database, whether you happen to have 2002 or 2003. Part of the toolkit is a scanning tool to find databases and identify problem areas and runs as a standalone app, and does not require that you have any version of Access installed. I agree however that it does have a limited audience - it's focus is the large organizations who have so many desktop databases done in Access97 that they believe they can't afford to upgrade.
