    DSUM Info (Office 97)

I am working with a Workbook with DSUM formulas. I want to set up a warning so that wrong information for a corresponding area is not entered. Is it possible?
Thank for any help out there.

Could you be a little more specific about what you have and what you want. I do not understand.

    Re: DSUM Info (Office 97)

I have a column name division. A code number is typed into this column and other info into another column which is then calculated in an area dealing with the codes that have been typed in. I want to have a warning come up when the code typed into the division column is not one of the corresponding codes. Or is there a way to have a list of "only" codes that can be typed in. Don't want a drop down.

    Thanks.

Create a range with the acceptable codes. If you like, you can give this range a name (Insert | Name | Define...)

Select the cell into which the user enters the code.
    Select Data | Validation.
In the Allow dropdown list, select List.
In the Source box, point to the range with allowable codes, or type the range name.
Clear the check box labeled "Dropdown list in cell" or something similar (I hope there is such a check box in Excel 97; there is in Excel 2002)
In the Error Message tab, select a warning style, title and message.
    Click OK.
