    pop-up ads (IE 6.0)

Help! I'm being bombarded by pop-up ads out the wazoo. I installed Limewire and that's when things got really bad. I have since uninstalled Limeware... I think this has taken care of the majority of pop-ups. I also use Adaware and Spybot almost every day. Any other suggestions???
    Thanks

Yes, Limewire will do that. If you are using Adaware & Spybot, you should be OK, but I would also do a complete virus scan. Go tothis Symantec site and search for Limewire. It identifies some worms that attempt to spread through the use of Limewire.

Aside from getting a third-party pop-up blocker, I would strongly suggest giving Mozilla Firefox a test drive. I've forgotten what pop up ads were like since I started using it. For Internet Explorer, a lot of folks really like the Google Toolbar, which has a pop-up blocker built in.

If the pop-ups are not coming from your browser and are just randomly launching, that's something different.
