attachments dont arrive (6.0)

I create a message, attach a file and send the message, all seems fine, but the attachment never arrives at its destination. It is not to do with the security where outlook blocks types of attatchments, the recipient does not have the 'do not allow attachments to be saved or opened...' box ticked and neither do i. Is anybody familiar with this problem? Any help gratefully recieved. Thanks, jules

What is the recipient's mail client (e.g., Outlook Express, Mozilla, web site interface)?

What is the attachment type (e.g., .doc, .pdf, .jpg)?

Does it matter whether you use HTML format or plain text format?

The recipients mail client is outlook express, it's a .ppt type, and it doesn't seem to matter whether its html or plain text. I've checked with the isp and they don't block any attachment type unless it has a virus.

Just a shot in the dark here, but, try scanning the file with your AV software. It's possible that an element of the .ppt file is infected.

Who are the two ISP's involved here, yours and theirs?

Are you using MS Word as your email editor?

Is the file shown as attached in your "Sent Copy"?

Thanks, same ISP - a company called Vital. Word is the email editor. Yes the file shows as attached.
I have just sent the message again to a PC with Outlook, rather than Outlook Express and the file arrived and opened fine! What's that about?

Could it have something to do with attachment size restrictions on the Outlook Express account ?? How large is that file ??

The attachment is 1.5MB

Can you put the .ppt file in a .zip file and try to send it that way ??
